OUR PASTOR/FIRST LADY
Eleanor (Ann) Myrick has been active in ministry most of her life. As a small child, she began singing in choirs, in Mississippi at Macedonia Baptist Church before she was 5, and continuing after relocating to Sacramento at Alpha and Omega Spiritual Church. Because of her early ability to read and explain to others what she had read, she began teaching Sunday School to her peers at the age of 9.
When Wayside Spiritual Temple was formed, under the leadership of her mother (the founding pastor), Pastor Olla B. Haynes, she was the first choir director. She continued in this until she left for six years of service in the US Army. She became the director again upon her return. Even during her years of military service, Ann participated in church choirs in Izmir, Turkey and at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Ann actively works alongside her husband in ministry providing support in various areas of the ministry.
